Meyer's departure unpacked

Former Bok players chat to CapeTalk’s Kienno Kammies about Heyneke Meyer’s departure.

CAPE TOWN - The South African Rugby Union (Saru) yesterday announced that Heyneke Meyer no longer wishes to be considered as a candidate to coach the Springboks after this year.

Despite winning 67% of matches in his four year tenure as Springbok coach, Meyer has had a very challenging year.

The Springboks lost to Argentina for the first time and lost to Japan in their first World Cup match.

Listen to the SoundCloud above as former Springbok Captain Corne Krige and former Springbok player Chester Williams discusses Meyer's departure.
