Bloem man allegedly kills wife, burns body at dumping site

Police say they cannot reveal the man’s identity, but say he is linked to the ANC in that province.

CAPE TOWN - A 33-year-old Bloemfontein man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife and setting her body alight at a dumping sight this morning.

Police say he murdered his 26-year-old wife at their home in Langenhovenpark Park, put her body in the boot of his car and spent the weekend at his parents' home in Winburg.

He was caught by two people at a dumping site this morning, who saw him burning the body and notified the police.

Police say they cannot reveal the man's identity, but say he is linked to the ANC in the Free State.

The police's Ian Gaobepe says he will appear in the Winburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
