CAPE TOWN - Police have arrested three people in connection with an abalone and crayfish poaching syndicate in Hout Bay.
It's believed two of the suspects are ringleaders of a syndicate operating in the area.
More arrests are imminent.
Deputy provincial police commissioner Jeremy Vearey says an operation was launched after months of investigations.
"As a result of that investigation, we amassed a load of evidence over the past months which culminated the operation that we had yesterday. More arrests will follow to round up the rest of the members of the syndicate."
