Grace Mugabe: Our home isn't spared from power cuts
The Zimbabwean first lady says she and her husband feel the hardships experienced by ordinary citizens.
Grace Mugabe made the remark at one of her rallies, where she's been at pains to say that she and her husband feel the hardships experienced by ordinary Zimbabweans.
The Herald is reporting that she told supporters that the first family's home in Harare isn't spared from power cuts.
In fact, she said they'd had lots of electrical gadgets damaged by power surges when electricity is restored.
Zimbabwe is in the throes of a power crisis, because of break-downs at thermal power stations and reduced generation at Lake Kariba.
But some readers have responded with skepticism online, saying even if the first family does have power cuts, they have backs ups that ordinary Zimbabweans don't possess.
