CAPE TOWN - The Cape Peninsula University of Technology says a vandalised exam venue, at its Bellville campus, will not be available for use over the next few days.

Mop-up operations have been underway since early this morning following incidents of vandalism and flooding at the Major Sports Hall overnight.

Examinations at the campus have been postponed indefinitely.

The university's Lauren Kansley says, "Due to the security situation in Cape Town we will no longer be busing students to any exams venue in future. Exams have gone smoothly at the Wellingtons campus and the Wingfield Military Base today, and will continue as scheduled for the rest of the week."
