Mamelodi gangster remembered as a 'generous man'
Alleged criminal mastermind Ignatius Selokane was shot dead in Mamelodi last Sunday.
PRETORIA - Friends of a man alleged to have masterminded some of the country's most elaborate robberies say he was a generous man who helped many people succeed.
Ignatius Selokane, also known as Junior 13, was shot dead in Mamelodi last Sunday.
He is accused of leading a syndicate which robbed banks making off with over R60 million across the country.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Baptist Church in Mamelodi to bid their final goodbyes to Selokane.
Tears could be seen streaming down the faces of many as a guard of honour comprising of his friends ushered in his coffin.
His friend Abi Moraka says Selokane educated those around him.
Selokane was expected to appear in court next month in connection with various crimes.
The National Prosecuting Authority now says it will consider how to proceed with its case without him.
