CAPE TOWN - Western Cape MEC for Economic Development and Tourism MEC Alan Winde Western Cape Premier Helen Zille are leading a delegation to China in a bid to bolster trade and investment.

In 2013, the province's exports to China were valued at over R2 billion.

And the provincial government wants to grow this.

Winde says wine exports have skyrocketed.

He says their action plan for the agro-processing sector includes doubling wine exports to china by 2025.

"We've gone from about 5 million litres of wine into China to last year hitting 11 million litres. And this year so far we're sitting on 94 percent up in volume. We're sitting on 105 percent up on value."

Winde says tourism has also been highlighted as a prime focus.
