Matric ‘rewrite’ letter currently circulating is fake
The Education Department says a letter claiming learners need to rewrite their Maths exam is fake.
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has warned matrics that a letter claiming they have to rewrite their Maths exam is fake.
The document is being circulated on a Basic Education Department letterhead.
It falsely states the Maths second paper was released prematurely.
Western Cape Education's Jessica Shelver says the national department has confirmed the letter is not real.
"It is most unfortunate that some selfish individuals engage in such destructive behaviour that will only serve to unnecessarily increase the stress surrounding the exams. We just want to assure all our NSC candidates that the letter is fake and we encourage them to remain focused."
