CAPE TOWN - A couple has survived a near-miss landing on the Richard's Bay beachfront.

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) responded after the plane's propeller dislodged forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing on the beach on Saturday morning.

No injuries were reported.

The NSRI's Craig Lambinon says, "On arrival on scene it was found that a couple on board the airplane made an emergency landing after reportedly the propeller on the single engine plane fell off. The landing was successful and no one was injured."
