'Syndicate wants to corrupt SA cricket fixtures'
CSA has warned players not to fall victim to an international syndicate.
JOHANNESBURG - Cricket South Africa (CSA) has issued a warning to players saying they must remain vigilant and report any shady activity.
The cricket body has confirmed its gathered intelligence that an international syndicate is looking to corrupt domestic fixtures.
An investigation led by CSA's anti-corruption and security unit is looking into allegations of attempts by an international syndicate to corrupt domestic matches in South Africa.
The organisation has warned players to be wary of the syndicate and not to fall victim to their approaches.
CSA has also confirmed that it's working with the International Cricket Council on the investigation and if necessary officials will source the assistance of the South African Police Service.
