Health dept to release findings of HPCSA probe
A special task team probed allegations of irregularities & mismanagement at the HPCSA.
PRETORIA - Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi is expected to release findings of a special task team, which probed allegations of irregularities and mismanagement at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Earlier this year, Motsoaledi appointed the team to look into allegations made by whistleblowers.
He says 30 staff members who raised concerns about management, have since resigned.
The report, which will also contains recommendations, will be shared with the public at a media briefing in Pretoria today.
Motsoaledi's spokesperson Joe Maila said, "We received the report after the investigation was completed, but today's meeting with the council is to officially give them notice that we've received the report. Minister thought that it was prudent that we look into it terms of a formal investigation."
