Man (37) drowns in Camps Bay tidal pool

It's understood the 37-year-old died when he ran into trouble during a routine swim this morning.

CAPE TOWN - Police are investigating the death of a man at the Camps Bay tidal pool.

It's understood the 37-year-old died when he ran into trouble during a routine swim this morning.

Stunned locals looked on as his body laid in the sand, covered with a space blanket.

The man's wife and sister-in-law were huddled beside him while they waited for officials to take his body away.

Shocked by the news, one local said the man was a regular at the pool.

It's unclear how the man had died.
