Hundreds of Masiphumelele demonstrators flanked the Glen Clairn express way as they marched to court early this morning.
Outside court the crowd's chanting grew so loud proceedings had to adjourn because the noise drowned out the State's submissions.
St George's Street, outside the courthouse, is currently blocked off and there's a heavy police presence.
