Sars officials confiscate dagga, heroin worth over R3m
Half a ton of dagga was found hidden in a truck to Namibia at the Nakop Border Post worth R2,8 million.
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Revenue Service (Sars) say its confiscated heroin and dagga worth more than R3 million in two separate drug busts over the past 48 hours.
In the latest bust, half a ton of dagga was found hidden in a truck headed for Namibia at the Nakop Border Post valued at R2,8 million.
Customs detectors also confiscated one kilogram of heroin valued at more than R200,000 at the OR Tambo International Airport in packages headed for Spain.
Sars spokesperson Sandile Memela said, "We are very proud to announce that the very vigilant Sars customs officials have bagged the dagga and heroin worth more than R3million."
