Interpol arrests Brit in SA facing sexual offence charges
The British national is facing 12 charges of assault & sexual offences involving minors in his native country.
JOHANNESBURG - Interpol has arrested a British national in South Africa who is facing 12 charges of assault and sexual offences involving minors in his native country.
The 69-year old man, who is said to have committed the crimes as far back as 1972, appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court today.
Police say they discovered that he had been living in the country for several years when they were approached by UK authorities in 2014.
The police's Vishnu Naidoo said, "The man was arrested yesterday and was remanded in custody until 16 November. The court will make a determination on whether or not he's extraditable."
