JOHANNESBURG - The EcoMobility festival in Sandton comes to an end this week with the City of Joburg to release statistics on how successful the initiative has been.

For the month of October motorists have been urged to abandon their vehicles and use public transport, walkways and cycle lanes to move in and out of Sandton.

The festival is aimed at easing traffic congestion.

The city's Lisa Seftel said, "EcoMobilty has been impactful. The fact that so many people know about it and talk about it and understand that EcoMobility is very important. We are having a final media briefing tomorrow where we will have people who have measured the festival who are going to tell us exactly what happened and what impact we made."
