Estate agent in court for trying to smuggle cellphone to Krejcir

JOHANNESBURG - A female estate agent will appear in the Magistrates Court in Cullinan this morning after she was caught allegedly smuggling a phone to convicted Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir.
The woman was arrested when the iPhone, hidden in the sole of a shoe, which was discovered when it rang at the Zonderwater Prison where Krejcir is currently being held.
Several weeks ago, authorities foiled what they believed to be an elaborate escape plan that would have seen Krejcir flee the country.
The 45-year-old mother of three apparently went to visit Krejcir in prison to get him to sign documentation allowing his Bedfordview property to go on the market.
It's believed she had been in touch with Krejcir's family who are in Europe, and had been asked to take him a pair of shoes.
A phone was hidden in the sole of one of the shoes.

Authorities discovered it when the device rang and Krejcir's son Dennis was on the other end.
It has also since emerged that phones have been discovered hidden in a kettle and an electric frying pan.
Police believe Krejcir is determined to escape jail and to do that he needs to get his hands on a phone.
They are keeping close tabs on him and his visitors.
