Cape man nabbed for possession of abalone worth R1.2m

CAPE TOWN - A 53-year-old Hermanus man has been arrested after he was caught with abalone worth R1,2 million in Cape Town.

He was apprehended along the N2 highway near Lwandle today.

The police's Andre Traut said, "He was arrested after officials responded to information. This suspect is due to make a court appearance in the Strand Magistrates Court on Wednesday, he will be charged with possession of abalone."
