JOHANNESBURG - Australia will face old foes New Zealand in the final of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The Wallabies beat Rugby Championship opponents Argentina 29-15 in the second semifinal on Sunday.

Australia who led 19-9 at halftime, outscored the Pumas by four tries to zero.

The tries coming via lock Rob Simmons and a hatrick from winger Adam Ashley-Cooper.

Argentina's Nicolas Sanchez scored all his team's points, slotting five penalties, while lock Tomas Lavanini was harshly sinbinned by referee Wayne Barnes for a dangerous tackle.

Simmons was first to dot down. He scored in the third minute, intercepting a loose pass inside the Argentinian 22 metre area.

The Wallabies dominate the possession and territory statistics, pinning the South Americans in their half of the field for much of the first half.

That pressure paid off as Ashley-Cooper then rounded off a good Australian backline move, diving over in the right hand corner in the 10th minute for the Wallabies second try.

He scored a second try late in the first half, receiving a floated pass over the Argentinian defence from Matt Giteau to score in the left hand corner this time.

With limited scoring opportunities, Argentina were kept in the game by their flyhalf Nicolas Sanchez, who converted all his three penalty attempts in the first half, and another two in the second.

The Wallabies rounded off a clinical performance in the semifinal, when Ashley-Cooper scored try number three late in the second half, following a brilliant breakaway down the left hand touchline by Drew Mitchell.

He cut inside, made the pass outside on his right for Ashley-Cooper to scoop up and dive over.

Australia and New Zealand will meet in the final on 31 October at Twickenham.

Semifinal losers Argentina and South Africa will do battle in the third place playoff game the day before.
