JOHANNESBURG - Africa Japan Students Alliance (AJASA) in Tokyo says it stands in solidarity with South African students in their fight for better access to education.

There has been an outpour of support since the start of protests across eight provinces, with students calling for a proposed fees hike at most universities to be scrapped.

An increasing group of students, who are now pursuing their studies abroad, say they empathise with protesters and commend them for their efforts.
