JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police have called for anyone with information to come forward regarding a gang of 12 men who raped a woman and killed two other men including her husband in Kensington.

It's understood the pair and another couple were walking through Rhodes Park when they were approached by the gang on Saturday.

Both men were drowned after being tied up and thrown into a dam while the second woman managed to escape.

The community of Kensington is shocked after the attack.

A resident says many people in the area are now afraid to visit the park.

"The community is shocked. A lot of people go there for walks, they run and walk their dogs especially in the late afternoon."

The police's Lungelo Dlamini says the gang tied up the two women's' husbands and threw them into the dam where they drowned.

"At a later stage the police diving team recovered the bodies and no one has yet been arrested."

While authorities continue to search for the criminals the motive for the crime is not yet known.
