Police say the gang tied the husbands up and threw them in a dam, where they drowned.
The police's Lungelo Dlamini said, "The police are appealing to anyone with information, who may identify the suspects who attacked the two men who were walking with their wives. It's alleged that the suspects tied up the men, threw them into the dam, and one woman was raped."
Police say the search for the rest of the men is currently underway.
Dlamini says the motive for the crime is not known at this stage.
"One of the men was allegedly armed with a firearm. At this stage only one man has been arrested."
