Pollard excited ahead of 'biggest game of his career'
Springbok fly-half Handre Pollard says the team is excited ahead of the #RWC2015 quarterfinals.
LONDON - Springbok fly-half Handré Pollard says there's no chance that complacency will set in ahead of their Rugby World Cup quarterfinal against Wales this weekend.
The Welsh look set to start this weekend's game as heavy underdogs in light of their recent loss to Australia.
Pollard, predictably, says this will be the biggest game of his career.
"It's certainly the biggest of our careers, all the youngsters in the squad, who are in their first world cup. But the vibe in the squad is exciting. We're just very excited and we're enjoying every moment of it. It's a surreal experience to be are part of the rugby world cup quarterfinal squad against Wales. We are just going to go out there and enjoy it."
Pollard says the prospect of playing at Twickenham doesn't faze him at all.
"It won't change anything. Actually it's going to be amazing to play at Twickenham. So I'm looking forward to it."
He adds they won't underestimate the opposition's backline.
"We have to be at our A-game, there are no soft targets in that backline at all so we have to be ready for every guy in the backline."
Pollard says that there's been a change in culture and mindset.
"We've basically prepared for everything. We basically ticked all the boxes. They'll definitely stick to what they do and if they bring something different then we'll have to react to that on the field."
