CAPE TOWN - Khayelitsha police are on the hunt for a group of gunmen responsible for the murder of a Somali shop owner in Harare.

Achmed Bargadle, believed to be about 30 years old, was gunned down in his store in the Endlovini informal settlement in the area yesterday.

Police have appealed to the community to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the gunmen.

It's believed a group of men entered the shop posing as customers as the owner opened the store around 6am.

One of the suspects shot Bargadle in the stomach. He later died on the scene.

The Khayelitsha Development Forum's Ndithini Thyido said, "The forum condemns the killing of any individual for whatever reason."

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and airtime.
