'The Washington Post has lost its sense of humour'
The Washington Post called Fikile Mbalula's tweets 'trash-talk' but he says it was all humour.
JOHANNESBURG - Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula has hit back at the Washington Post for publishing an article about his Twitter posts during the Springboks' game against the Eagles in the Rugby World Cup.
Mbalula tweeted during yesterday's game that the Americans will now know Africa is a continent and South Africa is a country within it.
The Washington Post called his tweets "trash-talk" but the minister says it was all humour.
Mbalula has hit back at the publication saying it has "lost its sense of humour" after criticising his tweets before and during the Springboks' 64-zero win against the US.
One of his tweets reads: We won't even remember we are related to you via Kanye dear USA - we will win this.
Another read: Postcard from South Africa - to the United States of America, with a picture of a laughing monkey attached.

After the winning match he tweeted a picture of President Jacob Zuma pretending to tell us President Barack Obama that he is phoning the Springboks to tell them to eat the Eagles.
The publication has described Mbalula as a man who "tells it like it is" especially when it comes to rugby.
