CAPE TOWN - A man has been arrested for the alleged possession of drugs worth nearly a R1 million near Goodwood in Cape Town.
The police's flying squad stopped the man while he was driving on the N1 on Tuesday after receiving a tip-off.
The police's Andre Traut explains what they found.
"They searched the vehicle and they found three one kilogram bags of tik inside, with an estimated street value of R900,000. The suspect, a Nigerian man, aged 43, was arrested and is due in court once he has been charged."
Meanwhile, police have arrested five suspected hijackers in Nyanga during search operations.
Officers were following a tracker signal when they were alerted to five men sitting in a parked Mercedes Benz on Tuesday.
They found that while the vehicle had not been reported stolen, it was not registered under any of the suspects' names.
