JOHANNESBURG - ER24 says two people have been killed and three others injured in a helicopter crash near the Blouberg Hospital in Bochum, north of Polokwane this afternoon.

Paramedics say they arrived on the scene to find the aircraft wreckage in a field nearly 200 meters away from the hospital.

Limpopo police confirmed the private chopper was deployed to the Blouberg Mountain to install antennas when it experienced technical difficulties and crashed into a pole.

Er 24's Russell Meiring says the surviving occupants have been transported to hospital.

"On assessment we found the remains of two occupants lying near the helicopter, three other patients were found on scene with minor to moderate injuries. It is understood that the injuries were caused by the debris."
