Vavi appears in court for speeding
Zwelinzima Vavi was arrested near Edenvale by Ekurhuleni Metro Police at around 6am yesterday morning.
JOHANNESBURG - Unite Against Corruption convenor Zwelinzima Vavi has appeared in the Edenvale Magistrates Court on a charge of speeding.
Vavi was arrested near Edenvale by Ekurhuleni Metro Police at around 6am yesterday morning.
He made a brief appearance in the court where his case was postponed to 4 November.
The worker leader is accused of driving 182 kilometres per hour in a 120 km/h zone.

He was apparently travelling on the R24 freeway when he was stopped by Metro Police.
Vavi has remained tight-lipped about the charges and has not yet indicated if he intends pleading guilty or innocent.
