JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates are through to the final of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup after beating Al Ahly 4-3 in the semi-final second leg at the Suez Stadium in Egypt on Sunday night.

The Buccaneers won the first leg of the semi-finals 1-0, to finish with a 5-3 aggregate victory. They will meet Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia in the final.

Al Ahly dominated the opening half hour before Orlando Pirates started to find their stride, but still couldn't get passed that Ahly's defence line.

Ahly broke the deadlock, opening the scoring three minutes before half time. Evouna beating the offside trap, got passed Ovono who advanced towards him and tapped the ball into the back of an empty net.

AT HALF TIME: AL AHLY 1-0 ORLANDO PIRATES

Orlando Pirates felt the pressure in the second half as the hosts dominated and in the 53rd minute it was Evouna again who found the back of the net. Left wide open and unmarked easily headed the ball in on the counter attack.

Two minutes later, Orlando Pirates coach, Eric Tinkler brought in Kermit Erasmus for Lehlohonolo Majoro and took Eric Myeni off with Thabo Rakhale coming on - and what a crucial decision that would be.

Three minutes later, Erasmus was in on the action he beat the goalkeeper, Ekrami with a curler on the far post in the box.

With less than 20 minutes left on the clock, Tinkler took Thandani Ntshumayelo off and introduced Issa Sarr in the middle. Three minutes after that, Thamsanqa Gabuza silenced the crowds, to pull Pirates level; his shot was deflected into the net.

This boosted Pirates and they continued to attack, Matlaba capitalised on a defensive error in the 85th minute and coolly beat Ekrami.

The hosts desperate for the win made it 3-3, Gamal cancelled Matlaba's strike in the 90th, and time was running out.

With seconds to the final whistle, Makola's pass from the left, found Rakhale on the edge of the area and took the Bucs to glory 4-3.
