Sangoma's wife handed 21 years for her role in 17 rapes

JOHANNESBURG - The District Court in Mpumalanga has sentenced a woman to 21 years in prison for helping her husband rape 17 young girls at their initiation school.
Yesterday, 50-year-old sangoma, Johan Mlombo, was sentenced to 17 life sentences, amounting to 425 years behind bars, for raping 17 girls aged between nine and 17 at the camp in 2012.
His wife, Mapalase Khoza, was sentenced on two counts of the assault and one count of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The police's Leanard Hlati said, "The court further heard that Khoza was aware of the incidents and even aided Mlombo to commit these evil acts on the girls by ushering the girls to the room he occupied."
