#RWC2015: Springboks lead against Scotland at halftime
The one blemish for South Africa, is that they ended the first half and will begin the second with only14 men.
CAPE TOWN - It's the Springboks who lead Scotland 20-3 at halftime in their Rugby World Cup Pool B fixture being played St James Park in Newcastle.
Schalk Burger scored the opening points of the game with a try in the 13th minute.
The try was only awarded after referee Nigel Owens checked with the TMO (Television Match Official), as the ball appeared to be held up over the goal line by the Scots.
It was a tightly contested opening forty minutes, but it was the Boks who were pretty much in control.
Last week's hatrick hero against Samoa, JP Pietersen scored his fourth try of the tournament, dotting down in the corner after some good team play just before halftime.
Flyhalf Handre Pollard was also on song. He scored ten points, converting all his kicks at goal, slotting two penalties and two conversions.
The one blemish for South Africa, is that they ended the first half and will begin the second with only14 men on the field.
Prop Jannie du Plessis was sent to the sin bin in the 33rd minute for a what referee Nigel Owens deemed to be a shoulder barge into a maul.
