JOHANNESBURG - The case against a Boksburg man accused of producing child pornography will be heard behind closed doors to protect the identity of his alleged victim.

Police arrested the car salesman at his workplace on Wednesday following a tip-off from their counterparts in the United States, who suspected the 39-year-old was distributing illicit images of children.

The arrest brings to eight the number of suspects detained under the so-called cloud nine operation, which has seen arrests in both Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Police allegedly found pornographic images of his girlfriend's four-year-old daughter on his laptop.

After his arrest, police searched his house where they found the laptop along with suspect images. They also seized several other electronic devices.

Nearly 50 suspects have been arrested on child pornography charges since the establishment of this special unit at the beginning of the year.
