Whip out your tissues... Cape man proposes live on-air
Kasuba Sikamo thought she was visiting Cape Talk to discuss her and her now-fiance's business.
JOHANNESBURG - Founders of Rockin Naturals, Kasuba Sikamo and Timothy Stuurman, were live on-air earlier today, chatting to Cape Talk's Africa Melane about their business, when the conversation took a rather romantic turn.
Stuurman proposed to Sikamo live on-air, and she said... yes!
While discussing the trials and tribulations of working together and being a couple, Stuurman praised Sikamo's work ethic, calling her 'an amazing woman'.
Just before ending the interview, Melane said, "And before we say goodbye, Timothy, I believe you have something to do…?"
Stuurman responded, saying, "I do, and I wrote it down."
While unfolding what sounds (and you'll hear it) like the speech of his life, and taking a deep breath, listeners heard a clearly anxious Sikamo taking a deep breath herself, and whispering 'Oh My Gosh'.
Stuurman then begins with, "Kasuba, you are the cheekiest, funniest, moodiest, happiest, prettiest, kindest, strongest woman I know. And I love you"
He goes on to say, "Everything about you makes me smile deep inside."
Stuurman then babbles on about it being a cliché to say that Sikamo makes him a better person, but says that she really, really does.
He attributes all of his achievements in his life to her, adding that she was the one who believed in him when no one else did.
He says a whole of lot of other incredibly sweet, romantic, tear-jerking stuff…
And then… the best part!
Stuurman says, "I love you more than I could ever pen, or sing, or dance, or express. Will all that said, with the blessing of your mom and dad and with the whole of Cape Town behind me, I want to know officially…"
At this point Sikamo is (very gracefully) tearing up in the background.
"Will you marry me?"
And she, of course, says "YES"!
