Jean De Villiers grateful for time spent with Boks
De Villiers is recovering from surgery after his injury led to an early return from the RWC.
JOHANNESBURG - Former Springbok Captain Jean de Villiers says he remains grateful for the time he spent with the team.
He subsequently retired from international rugby at the age of 34.
This is the second time he has had to leave a world cup through injury.
The former Bok skipper says despite what he calls 'bad luck', he's grateful.
"That's unfortunately just the way it panned out. My luck around world cups wasn't good but still I had the opportunity to play for my country so many times. I still look back with a lot of pride and I am still a very happy man."
