Umalusi ready for 2015 matric exams
Umalusi says despite concerns raised by some provinces, it's all systems go for the 2015 matric exams.
JOHANNESBURG - Umalusi says despite concerns raised by some provinces it's all systems go for the 2015 matric final exams.
The quality assurance body has outlined its state of readiness for this year's national senior certificate assessment at a briefing in Johannesburg.
It says over 800,000 candidates will sit down for this year's exams across the country.
Umalusi CEO Mafu Rakometsi says the quality assurance body is ready to administer the 2015 matric final exams.
"I can report to you that our system is ready for the 2015 final examinations."
Mafu has however raised concerns over some provinces that are still not up to standard, such as the Eastern Cape and Limpopo.
"Umalusi is going to visit those provinces again to verify whether the areas that have been found lacking have been corrected."
Umalusi has assured the nation the quality assessment criteria this year has matured and can be compared to the best in the world.
There are only 18 days left until grade twelves put pen to paper.
The department's Jessica Shelver said, "The department has organised school programmes for various schools in the province which aims to assist learners in public schools that need further support ahead of the 2015 NEC."
