JOHANNESBURG - Former United States President Bill Clinton has criticised Donald Trump's campaign, calling it 'fact free'.

Clinton made the comment during an interview on CNN.

He was responding to Trump's accusation that Clinton's wife, Hilary, was the country's worst secretary of state when she served under President Barack Obama.

Trump also mentioned America's sanctions imposed against Iran, where Clinton was quick to come to his spouse's defence.

He says, "The thing about branding is that you can be fact free. Even the Republicans admit that the sanctions on Iran were well done, and that it was a major achievement to get Russia and China to sign off on these sanctions and enforce them. She did that."
