Du Noon 'not high on priority list' for new police station
Authorities say it is unlikely Du Noon will get its own police station within the next two to three years.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police management has revealed Du Noon is unlikely to get its own police station within the next two to three years.
In the absence of a police station, a neighbourhood watch has been created.
For now, residents have to rely on the Milnerton Police Station outside of Du Noon.
Acting Provincial Police Commissioner Thembisile Phatekile says Du Noon is not high on the priority list for a new police station at the moment.
"There is some consideration, but it does not mean that it will be done in the next two to three years. But the National Commissioner's priority could re-prioritise. [In]the provincial priority [it] is number eleven."
