CAPE TOWN - The case against two men implicated in the murder of Cape Town police officer Petrus Holz has been postponed to November for further investigation.

Adrian Hendricks and Xavier Ryan, both in their twenties, appeared in the Somerset West Magistrates Court this morning.

The two were arrested in Macassar, hours after Holz was allegedly ambushed, robbed and stabbed to death on the N2 highway at the end of July. Holz, 50, was attacked after stopping on the side of the highway to change two flat tyres.

The state informed the court the investigation into the matter was still incomplete.

Throughout proceedings, the two stood with their hands clasped behind their back.

Ryan smiled broadly throughout proceedings, while Hendricks stood still and showed no emotion, apart from a quick nod in his grandmother's direction as she sat in the public gallery.

Both the accused have abandoned their bail applications.
