'Century City killer' case transferred to WC High Court
A Gugulethu man is being investigated following six murders near the Century City train station.
CAPE TOWN - The case against a Gugulethu man being investigated for a possible link to six dead women discovered near the Century City train station, will be transferred to the Western Cape High Court.
Kahangayi Sedumedi appeared in the Goodwood Magistrates Court today.
He was arrested in January and is currently charged with three counts of murder and two counts of rape.
The state says investigations into the discovery of six bodies near the train station are 'virtually' complete.
Prosecutors have now requested a postponement until 30 November to allow them time to prepare documents and set a date for the matter to be transferred to the Western Cape High Court.
In the meantime, Sedumedi will remain behind bars until his next court appearance.
In total six bodies were discovered on a field near Acre Road between February and December last year.
The women were found naked with their hands tied behind their backs.
