CAPE TOWN - President Jacob Zuma and the African National Congress (ANC) have sent their condolences to the family of struggle stalwart Reggie Vandeyar, who has died at the age of 84.
The party says Vandeyar joined the struggle against apartheid while he was still a teenager.
He also spent ten years in jail, including several years on Robben Island.
The ANC's Keith Khoza says, "He was amongst the first people to join Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) and had been very instrumental in the organising in the township where you would find blacks, coloureds and Indians."
