JOHANNESBURG - Murder accused Sindisiwe Manqele has told the High Court sitting in the Randburg Magistrates Court that she and her rapper boyfriend were planning to get married soon.

Manqele is accused of stabbing to death Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi at his Alexandra home in March this year.

The 26-year-old claims she stabbed him in self defence, and didn't want to kill him.

She says she and Habedi were planning a wedding this year.

The accused says he had promised to go to her home and pay lobola.

Despite her accusing him of being unfaithful she says they were planning a future together.

Manqele has described her rapper boyfriend as kind and caring, adding he was acting out of character on the day he was killed.

Meanwhile, the State has accused Manqele of fabricating a story about the events that led to her killing her boyfriend.

State Prosecutor Paul Schutter has told Manqele that she is lying about what sparked the argument between her and her Habedi.

Schutter has also accused her of trying to portray the deceased as the villain to suit her story.

The State says it will prove that the 26-year-old was in fact the jealous party in the relationship, and she was the one pursuing him.

Manqele says Flabba was insecure about his financial status and was anxious that she might leave him.

The accused declined to comment when asked if she was ever jealous of Habedi's female friends.
