No arrests made after Cavendish jewellery store robbery
Seven armed men stormed Trigg Jewellers in Cavendish Square and stole several items yesterday.
CAPE TOWN - There've been no arrests following an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Cavendish Square.
The armed robbery took place before midday on Tuesday.
Seven armed men stormed Trigg Jewellers yesterday and stole several items worth an undisclosed amount of money.
They fled the scene shortly after.
This is the second armed robbery at the store in less than two years.
The police's Frederick van Wyk said, "We've opened an armed robbery case for further investigation and suspects are yet to be arrested. Anyone that has any information about this incident, can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the Claremont police."
In a separate incident, the Castel Hotel in Canterbury Street was robbed by a gang of four armed robbers on Monday.
Police said gunmen took cellphones and an undisclosed amount of money.
