Flabba trial: Sindiswe Manqele testifies
Manqele is accused of stabbing her rapper boyfriend Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi to death in March.
JOHANNESBURG - Sindisiwe Manqele has begun testifying in her own trial.
Manqele is on trial for allegedly murdering her rapper boyfriend Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi.
Habedi was stabbed and killed in his home in Alexandra in March.
Manqele has admitted to killing Habedi in March, but is adamant she was defending herself during an argument.
After calling 11 witnesses including a forensic pathologist, friends and family members of Habedi, the State on Monday closed it's sitting in the High Court in Randburg.
THE NIGHT BEFORE THE STABBING
Manqele says that on 8 March, she and Flabba were supposed to go to Soweto to go see his mother because she had her birthday some time before that.
But they didn't go see her that day.
Instead, the couple went to The Sands in Sandton, where fellow Skwatta Kamp member Shugasmakx was having a party.

They were joined by state witness Nkululeko Chauke and his girlfriend Masego.
Manqele says they had a good time.
RECONCILED IN JANUARY
After being sworn in, Manqele, who says she's known Flabba since 2006, told the court they had previously broken up but then reconciled in January.
She said she'd been living with him in Alexandra since they'd gotten back together.
Her home is in Kempton Park.
Manqele told the court she would sleep at home for one night a week, or to get a change of clothes or go for the day to spend time with her father.
Her mother passed away in 2008, a year before she went overseas to study.
Manqele had a brother as well, but he also passed away in 2008.
OUT IN PUBLIC
Manqele told the court that whenever she and Flabba went out together, he always had fans approaching and appreciating him.
But she said this never made her uncomfortable.
The trial continues.
