JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg metro police have confirmed road closures in the city centre due to a bomb scare at The Star's building.

The building on Sauer Street has been evacuated and cordoned off.

Officials say the ANC's Luthuli House building has also been evacuated while police comb through the area.

JMPD's Edna Mamonyane says traffic has been diverted.

"Sauer Street was closed at about 12:35 this afternoon, between Albertina Sisulu and President (streets), due to a bomb scare at The Star's building. Traffic is being diverted into Albertina Sisulu."

Officials say some people have started returning to the buildings.
