‘Plans for Sandton road closures on track’
During October some lanes in the Sandton's CBD will be closed as part of the EcoMobility World Festival.
JOHANNESBURG - The City of Jo'burg says it's proceeding well with the cycle lanes and pavement widening ahead of the temporary closure of some lanes to cars next month.
During October, some lanes in the Sandton city centre will be closed, while extra lanes will be created for public transport as part of the EcoMobility World Festival.
Bus services are being provided from some shopping centres, while a park-and-ride system will be created around Sandton.
Joburg transport head Lisa Seftel says some of those services will be free.
"There will be taxi at places like George Lea Park and Innesfree Park, as well as Randburg Square. All the other park-and-rides will be either the Metro bus or Gautrain buses."
