The City of Cape Town's Fire and Rescue Service and Table Mountain National Park officials are monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, firefighters are battling a blaze at Murdock Valley and Cape Point Ostrich Farm.

Cape Town Fire and Rescue's Theo Layne said no danger has been reported to any property. Layne says the fire at Murdock Valley is inaccessible to staff.

"We are monitoring at strategic points, we've got table Mountain National Parks, Working on Fire as well as the Navy in attendance. There is no threat to any property, the fire is way up at the top of the mountains."

He adds in a separate incident at Cape Point Ostrich Farm there is a vegetation fire.

"Vehicles are still mobile to that position. At the moment there's no danger to any property or reported danger to any property and no injuries have been reported."
