Deadly weekend on WC roads

CAPE TOWN - A total of 15 people have died and several others have been left injured in a spate of road accidents in the Western Cape.

In the latest incident, a man lost his life when a truck overturned near Grabouw yesterday.

A passenger also died when a minibus crashed on the N1 near Worcester at the weekend.

About 11 others have been treated for minor injuries following that incident.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said, "On the Robertson road between Worcester and Robertson, a Hyundai vehicle the driver lost control over the vehicle and one woman passenger died in that accident. Another 11 passengers were taken to a nearby hospital."
