Golden send-off for the Boks ahead of #RWC2015

Thousands have gathered at Monte Casino to wish the Springboks well ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

JOHANNESBURG - Victor Matfield has promised to make South Africa proud during the upcoming Rugby World Cup in England.

The 31 springboks, selected by Coach Heyneke Meyer to represent South Africa at the upcoming Rugby World Cup, have arrived at Montecasino.

They're up on a balcony overlooking the Piazza where fans have flocked in their rugby jerseys.

With the Rugby World Cup just days away, South Africans are bidding the Springboks farewell as they prepare to depart for England.

Matfield spoke to the crowd, thanking them for coming out to support them; and also promised to make each and every South African proud when they take to the field in England.

The restaurants around the Piazza at Montecasino are jammed packed with hundreds of fans dressed in their springbok jerseys.

Live entertainment will be accompanied by what undoubtedly will be an inspiring message from the Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula later this afternoon.

The players will gather on stage before making their way to a cordoned off area where fans will line up for pictures and autographs.
