CAPE TOWN - The case against a Fish Hoek broker implicated in an international child porn syndicate has been postponed for further investigation.

The 45-year-old man appeared in the Simon's Town Magistrates Court today where he was granted bail of R5,000.

He was arrested last week and is charged with being in the possession of child pornography.

The finance broker's wife and children attended court proceedings.

One of his daughters burst into tears when a photographer took pictures of her father.

After proceedings the accused was led down to the holding cells while his family, who had come prepared with cash, rushed to post bail.

The arrest, and several others over the past few months, are part of a joint operation between the South African police and the FBI who have spent months taking out online meeting spaces for paedophiles.
