Concerns raised over high rate of child neglect in WC
Molo Songolo says it's the obligation of government and organisations such as theirs to protect children.
CAPE TOWN - Child rights group Molo Songololo has raised concern about the high number of child neglect cases being reported in the Western Cape.
In the latest incident, a Delft mother was arrested for allegedly leaving her three young children, aged one, three and nine, unattended in a locked house for nearly a week.
The children were removed and immediately taken to a place of safety.
Molo Songololo's Chantel Chandler-Lesch says, "We have high cases of neglect and abuse in the Western Cape and it needs to be taken seriously. It is our obligation and priority to protect our children."
